Close to making the signing of Jhon Arias official, Palmeiras remains attentive to other opportunities in the football market. In this context, according to journalist Bruno Andrade, from ESPN, midfielder Fred, from Fenerbahçe, would have been offered to the São Paulo club.
The midfielder’s name was on the agenda as a possibility, despite there still being no concrete progress in the negotiations. The priority of the Alviverde board continues to be Arias, but other options remain under analysis.

Can Fred reinforce Palmeiras?
Also according to journalist Bruno Andrade, Fred would be willing to terminate his contract with Fenerbahçe to return to Brazilian football. However, the player set a clear condition for accepting the release: full receipt of the remaining wages until the end of his contract with the Turkish club.
Currently, the midfielder still has around a year and a half left on his contract, which makes negotiations more complex.
Fenerbahçe are in a hurry to resolve the situation, as they want to make room for the signing of a foreign striker before the window closes this Thursday.
Fred’s trajectory
Fred has been playing for Fenerbahçe since the 2023/2024 season. In the current season alone, the midfielder entered the field 35 times, scored three goals and contributed three decisive passes.
With spells at Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk and Internacional, Fred also has experience in major international competitions. He was called up for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
