O PSD made official this Thursday (5) the commitment of membership of seven state deputies from São Paulo, in a movement that deepens the loss of members of the PSDB in the state and increases the political weight of the party led by Gilberto Kassab in the Legislative Assembly.
Memberships can only be formalized in March 2026, during the party window.
They announced that they will join the PSD on the day March 4th the deputies Analice Fernandes, Maria Lucia Amary, Dirceu Dalben, Rogério Nogueira, Mauro Bragato, Barros Munhoz e Carlão Pignatari. Today, six of them are in the PSDB and Dalben is affiliated with Cidadania, which forms a federation with the Tucanos.
The announcement was made by himself on social media. In the statement, he states that parliamentarians arrive to reinforce the party in São Paulo and expand the electoral structure for 2026.
The movement takes place under the leadership of the leader, who in addition to being national president of the PSD is currently secretary of Government and Institutional Relations under the administration of the governor of São Paulo, (Republicans).
Behind the scenes, leaders from other center and right-wing acronyms had been making reserved criticisms of the secretary’s political performance, with the assessment that he was strengthening the PSD’s party structure in the state based on articulations made while he was part of the first echelon of the São Paulo government.
The PSD has expanded its base in São Paulo and has been strengthening its political alliance with Tarcísio, whom . The party has also been identified as one of the main destinations for members leaving the PSDB, a party that has lost muscle in the state in recent electoral cycles.
Not all of the tucana bench at Alesp, however, will follow the movement. Bruna Furlan and Carla Morando did not join the agreement with the PSD and, to date, remain in the PSDB.
