Vasco has ongoing talks to try to sign Uruguayan midfielder Mauro Arambarri, currently at Getafe, in Spain. The 30-year-old player emerged as a target to reinforce the team’s central sector.
According to information released by the NTVASCAÍNOS portal, negotiations are still in the initial phase, but the sports project presented by the Rio club pleased the athlete. The first contact was evaluated as positive, which keeps the possibility open for progress.
Vasco’s idea is to make Arambarri’s arrival possible through a loan with an option to purchase. Both the player and the staff welcome the chance to return to South American football.

Who is Mauro Arambarri?
Mauro Arambarri was revealed by Defensor Sporting, from Uruguay, where he began his professional career. He then played for Boston River before moving on to European football, playing for Bordeaux, in France, between 2015 and 2017.
The midfielder then moved to Getafe, a club for which he has played since 2018 and where he managed to establish himself as an important part of the squad.
In the current season, Arambarri took to the field in 22 matches, scored three goals and contributed one assist.
