In the last big one before the October elections, the governor (Republicans) received a line with almost 220 mayors and hundreds of councilors, as well as secretaries, with requests for selfies and video recordings.
The harassment caused the event to start late, an hour and a half after the scheduled time, this Wednesday (4) at Palácio dos Bandeirantes. In the end, the governor classified the political environment created with the city halls on the eve of the re-election as “great”.
The kiss preceded the authorization of investments of R$ 2 billion for the construction of almost 15 thousand homes in more than 250 cities in the interior and coast, 10 thousand of which were directly built by CDHU (Housing and Urban Development Company).
Mayor of Paraibuna, Professor Helô (PL), who obtained authorization to build 100 houses, waited for Tarcísio for an hour. According to her, this is the largest investment in housing made by the state in the city — in the previous administration, led by Rodrigo Garcia (PSDB), 48 houses were made viable.
“The population demands fast deliveries and it is very important to show what we are achieving,” said the mayor.
Announcements like those made this Wednesday have a significant impact on mayors’ support for the current administration,
“We worked with these mayors, with the requests they made, both for housing and urban development”, he says. “They are at the beginning of their mandate and these will be deliveries that many of them will make in the coming years”, he adds.
CDHU has become one of the flagships of the government’s strategy to get closer to city halls, with works underway in more than 600 municipalities.
