MEO and NOS didn’t like Marcelo’s criticism – but did they hear what the president said correctly?

Ana Figueiredo, executive president of MEO, said that the Contingency plan was activated on January 28th, the most tragic day of the world: more than 1,500 non-field techniciansmobilized continuously, “often under extremely demanding conditions”.

“Our crisis roomoperating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ensuring permanent coordination of all technical and operational resources”, explained Ana Figueiredo.

Miguel Almeida, executive president of NOS, did not hesitate when saying that the President of the Republic is misinformed.

The person in charge thinks that Marcelo revealed callousness e inhumanity in view of the “hundreds of professionals who, since last Wednesday, have been working day and night” in recovering from the greatest destruction of communications networks ever recorded in Portugal.

Those responsible for MEO and NOS mainly defend the activated plans and the professionals who have been on the ground – but Marcelo spoke above all about the outdated infrastructures. The operators did not speak about the status of their facilities.
