The TCU (Federal Audit Court) authorized this Wednesday (4) an inspection at the Post Office to examine alleged irregularities at the state-owned company, including the assumption of debt with the Postalis fund in the amount of R$ 7.6 billion. The Court of Auditors will evaluate the administrative process that dealt with this contract, signed to cover a deficit in the pension fund’s benefit plan.
This order from the TCU came after a request from the Transparency, Governance, Inspection, Control and Consumer Protection Commission (CTFC) of the Federal Senate. The process was voted on this Wednesday. The request alleged that between 2022 and 2023, as well as the suspension of the publication of the 2024 financial statements, was alleged.
This Wednesday, the Court of Auditors authorized the procedure for Correios to present, within 20 days, several documents and documents. The technicians will evaluate, for example, the reasons that led Correios to approve the value of the Postalis equation, including minutes of meetings and debates that would have been held.
