Washington – The USA, the EU and Japan want to become more independent of China when it comes to rare earths and other important raw materials. They announced a raw materials partnership on Wednesday after a ministerial meeting in Washington. The US, EU and Japan wanted to “take significant steps to enhance their economic and national security by working together to strengthen resilience in supply chains for essential minerals,” they said in a joint statement.
