The gradual decrease in the level of the Iaco River brought relief to families affected by the flood in Sena. With the continuous ebb of the spring, which registered 13.34 meters in the last measurement carried out by Civil Defense this Friday (06), the river once again fell below the alert level, established at 14 meters, allowing families who were sheltering to begin returning.

From the early hours of the day, Civil Defense teams began assisting residents in moving back to their homes, especially in neighborhoods that are already free from water. With the river receding, previously flooded streets and areas became passable again, facilitating access and the gradual resumption of routine for affected families.
Despite the more favorable scenario, the authorities’ work continues at a careful pace. Civil Defense reported that it will continue to monitor the level of the Iaco River, as the period of greatest risk of flooding in the region extends until March. Residents are advised to remain attentive to official information and report any sudden changes in water levels.
In addition to logistical support for families to return, the agency also assesses the conditions of the affected areas, observing possible structural damage and emergency needs. The priority, according to Civil Defense, is to ensure that the return occurs safely, avoiding further inconvenience to the population.
With the ebb, the expectation is that the city will gradually return to normality, while preventive monitoring remains an essential measure to face possible fluctuations in the river level in the coming days.
