Minister Marco Buzzi, of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), is accused of sexual harassment by an 18-year-old girl during a vacation in Balneário Camboriú, on the coast of Santa Catarina. The case was revealed by Veja magazine. A young woman is the daughter of a couple of friends of the magistrate and reported the episode to the police after the family returned to São Paulo.
According to the accusation revealed by the magazine, the complainant stated that she had known the minister since childhood and maintained a relationship of trust with him. “He informs that, since he was a child, he regularly attended the STJ and had minister Marco Buzzi as a grandfather and confidant”, says the report.
At the beginning of January, she traveled with her parents to Praia do Estaleiro, at the magistrate’s invitation, to spend a few days at his house.
According to the statement, the day after arrival, the minister had asked questions about the young woman’s sexual orientation, wondering if she was a lesbian and if he was not attracted to men, since the victim had a girlfriend. The young woman claimed to be bisexual and reported that, despite the embarrassment, the relationship continued apparently normally.
The harassment episode would have occurred on January 9, around 11:30 am. At the time, the young woman’s mother remained at the house helping the minister’s wife, while her father participated in an online meeting.
