The , which brings together the party’s collective mandates in the São Paulo City Council and the Legislative Assembly, filed projects in both Houses asking for free bus, train and subway transportation in the city during the official street days — 7, 8, 14, 15, 16, 17, 21 and 22 February.

The campaign, called “Tarifa Zero Já Para Carnavalizar”, will also have a petition signed.

The projects are co-authored by state deputy Guilherme Cortez (PSOL) and supported by entities such as Minha Sampa and Instituto Pólis.

“The free public transport, both administered by the state and by the municipality on the days of the official street Carnival calendar, makes it possible to guarantee the right to the city and popular culture. There will be 16 million revelers moving among the more than 600 free processions through the streets”, says Paula Nunes, state co-deputy of the PSOL Feminist Caucus.
