Tibor Gašpar spoke for the Russian state agency: Clear words about the attitude of the Fico government towards Ukraine

  • Slovakia does not plan to provide Ukraine with military aid from state reserves.
  • The government under the leadership of Robert Fico emphasizes humanitarian and diplomatic support to Ukraine.
  • Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Tibor Gašpar confirmed the continuation of this policy in the future.

Slovakia does not provide military aid to Ukraine and plans to maintain this course. Deputy Speaker of the Slovak Parliament Tibor Gašpar stated this in an interview with the Russian state agency TASS, reports TASR.

“The current government led by Robert Fico continues to claim that Slovakia will not provide military aid to Ukraine from state reserves, and plans to maintain this course in the future,” Gašpar said. At the same time, he pointed out that he supports the provision of humanitarian aid and diplomatic efforts to settle the conflict.

“Robert Fico’s government insists that Slovakia does not supply ammunition or weapons to Ukraine, and it wants to continue to adhere to this policy. It is the government’s clearly declared line – an emphasis on humanitarian aid and diplomatic solutions instead of military supplies,” emphasized the deputy speaker of the Slovak parliament.

Gašpar also commented on Hungary’s plans to create an alliance with Slovakia and the Czech Republic against the European Union’s financial aid to Kyiv. “Slovakia conducts regular consultations with its regional partners, including Hungary and the Czech Republic, but a formal alliance aimed at blocking EU financial aid to Ukraine has not been created,” said Gašpar in an interview with the Russian state agency TASS.
