“The explosion occurred after Friday prayers in the Shiite mosque,” a police source confirmed on condition of anonymity. According to him, the number of victims will probably increase.
The injured are coming to hospitals
AFP reporters saw dozens of people arrive at hospitals in Islamabad with visible injuries and bloodied clothes. Another security source told the agency that a suicide bomber was responsible for the blast. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif condemned the incident.
