Atlético-MG announced this Saturday (7) the construction of a small arena in Vila Olímpica, one of the club’s headquarters, which will host matches for the women’s team and the youth team.
The announcement was made by the president of the association, Sérgio Coelho, .
“We, soon, perhaps at the same time that we will be inaugurating the base building here, will also inaugurate an arena in the Olympic Village. It will be for the Avengers and for the base”, began the president.
The Olympic Village already has a base structure that receives the women’s team during the week for training. Now, a renovation will be carried out to receive up to 1500 fans on game days.
“We have already purchased the lighting. In the second post-carnival we will start renovating the changing rooms. There are three. We will build a complementary building for the referees and (press) booths. At the beginning of March we will start (the construction of) a covered stand for 1500 people”, added Sérgio.
Atlético-MG’s base and women’s team play more frequently at SESC Venda Nova, but have also played games at Arena MRV.
