Bia started better and opened 2/0 in the first set, but could not sustain the advantage. Zakharova returned the break, balanced the actions and once again took away the Brazilian’s serve in the final stretch of the partial, closing at 6/4.

The script was repeated in the second set. The Brazilian even tried to react, but suffered two service breaks and saw her opponent manage the advantage until confirming the victory and the place in the main draw.
