Resolution approved by PT cites implementation of zero tariff and end of 6×1

In addition to defending the reduction of the 3% inflation targetthe resolution of the PT National Directory released today (7) also states that the party will implement the end of the 6×1 scale, without salary reduction, “because those who have always defended the right to work know that defending the right to rest is part of the same fight for dignity, mental health, family life and quality of life.”

According to the document, there will be progress in the implementation of zero tariff“because coming and going is a worker’s right.” “This policy will be another measure that will increase the worker’s disposable income, and allow many workers who travel on foot to have free transportation, also increasing the time available. Time and income are resources that guarantee dignity.”

This Friday (6), in a speech as a party activist, the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddadargued that the implementation of 6×1 scale has no tax impact, but zero tariffs have. “So, I need to design a program that has consistency. If it doesn’t have consistency, we’ll have to go back. Now, if it’s something consistent, sustainable, how are we going to finance public transport if it’s not through fares?”, he asked.

“Is there a way? There is. We have to design this. It’s not a simple thing to give up the tariff to finance a public service. But we are working on scenarios that will allow the president to include, or not, this proposal in his government plan”, continued Haddad.

International issues

The resolution also addresses foreign policy and comments on the situation of Venezuela and of Cubawithout explicitly mentioning the USA. “We do not accept any attempt at external interference with the people’s right to self-determination. The PT, which fought against the dictatorship, views with concern these attacks that date back to the dark times of interference in Latin America.”

The document also touches on multilateralism, saying that Brazil “returned to the center of the world with pride, resuming international protagonism, leading environmental debates and reaffirming its sovereignty.”

“Under the leadership of President Lula, we resumed an active and proud foreign policy, based on dialogue, cooperation between peoples and the defense of peace. The country was once again heard and respected in major international forums, strengthened the BRICS, rebuilt strategic relations with Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia, and asserted itself as a global leader in the defense of multilateralism, democracy, sustainable development and the fight against inequalities”, states the resolution.

The acronym states that there is a “new arena of political dispute marked by the power of big techs and the accelerated circulation of information and misinformation”. And he defends the elections: “The digital space cannot be a territory for manipulation or an instrument of attack on institutions. We need a national effort to combat fake newsand the illegal use of Artificial Intelligence, so that we have truly democratic and transparent elections”.
