Teenager attacked by pilot Pedro Turra dies after 16 days in hospital

Teenager Rodrigo Castanheira died this Saturday morning (7), aged 16. The young man spent around 16 days in a hospital in Brasília.

The fight began after a disagreement between Turra and the victim. According to investigations, the pilot was irritated by a comment made by the young man about a piece of gum that Pedro had thrown at one of Rodrigo’s colleagues.

As a result of the argument, Turra got out of the car and attacked the teenager. During shelter, Rodrigo hit his head on a car door, suffered head trauma and went into cardiorespiratory arrest for 12 minutes. He remained in an induced coma and in serious condition in hospital until this Saturday.

Turra was arrested the day after the attacks, but paid bail of R$24,300 and was released. Days later, after suspected attempted interference in the investigations, Pedro was arrested again and awaits the processing of the process in the Papuda Complex.

The accusation, which until now was very serious bodily injury, should be changed to manslaughter.

In a statement, the delegate responsible for the case, Pablo Aguiar, lamented the young man’s death. “During the investigation of this crime, I dealt with facts, evidence and difficult silences. But, above all, I carried the responsibility of remembering that, behind every technical detail, there was a life that deserved respect and truth. Seeking justice was, and continues to be, a way of honoring his memory,” he wrote.

Other occurrences of Turra

In addition to the case of aggression motivated by a fight over gum, the young man is being investigated for three other incidents recorded in 2025, involving supplying alcohol to a minor, bodily harm and illegal embarrassment.

The first occurred in June 2025, when Turra was accused of providing alcohol to a 17-year-old girl against her will.

The two were at a party at the Jockey Club on the 7th, when the man allegedly forced the victim, in front of other people, to drink vodka straight from a bottle, even asking third parties to hold the girl. A witness was questioned.

On the 28th of the same month, the young man was accused of causing bodily harm in a square in Águas Claras. The victim asked for investigations against the pilot to continue.

According to the police, the young man also committed acts of aggression and illegal restraint against an individual in the early hours of July 19th. The case was registered as factual/illegal constraint.
