14-year-old student from Covilhã creates educational platform with artificial intelligence

The initiative was born from the need to create a free and accessible solution to help colleagues study.

A young student from Covilhã created a school support platform to help his classmates. With the help of artificial intelligence, the platform provides tests, summaries and sheets with content from various subjects, from grades 7 to 12.

Rodrigo brought together the best of two worlds: talent and desire to help colleagues study, and the advantages of new technologies.

The 14-year-old student, who attends the 9th year at Escola Secundária Campos Melo, in Covilhã, created an educational platform that, in practice, it is a learning tool.

“It has exercises, an AI teacher who helps with questions, it also has a document library where they can share documents, it has an intelligent diary, it has a calculator and there are quizzes for students to better train themselves for the tests”, explained Rodrigo Santos.

The platform is aimed at students in grades 7 to 12. It arose when the young man noticed the difficulties of his colleagues during the study:

“I felt that we also needed some platform that could help us in some way, quickly and without having to go through explanations or spend money on it.”

Asked how students can trust the platform, Rodrigo explained: “I have some employees, from the university, from the 12th and 9th years, on alert, to see if there are any dangerous documents or documents that are conveying wrong information and are not reliable.”

A The platform also has a WhatsApp community with around a thousand participants and has been gaining more and more fans.

“I think it’s a very useful tool, because when I have difficulties or want to clarify doubts more quickly, or even organize my study, I use the platform and they give me a more organized way and more subjects”, said Inês Neve, a 12th year student.

“Now I can learn in a more didactic and pedagogical way (…) I even got better grades when I started using this platform”, added Valentim Neto, a 7th year student.

Rodrigo hopes to capture the interest of other students who can also contribute content to enrich the platform. Translating texts into other languages, with foreign students in mind, is the next step.
