The family of journalist Savannah Guthrie once again made a public appeal this weekend for the release of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, 84, kidnapped in Arizona and missing for more than a week.
In a video released on social media, the Today program presenter stated that the family members are willing to meet the financial demands made by the criminals.
In the recording, Savannah appears alongside her brothers and says that the family received the message from the kidnappers and understood the conditions imposed. The central request is that Nancy be returned safely. According to the journalist, the only priority at the moment is to bring the mother back home.

The kidnapping occurred on the night of January 31, when Nancy was dropped off at her residence after a family dinner. Her disappearance was only formally reported to the authorities the following day, after she failed to attend her usual appointments, which aroused concern among relatives.
The local police work with the hypothesis that the crime may have occurred over a longer period of time than initially estimated.
The investigation is being led by the FBI, which is analyzing the authenticity of an alleged ransom note sent to the press. According to investigators, the message established deadlines for payment and indicated the possibility of new demands if the amount was not transferred.

So far, no suspects have been identified. The FBI announced a reward of US$50,000 for information leading to the location of the victim or the arrest of those responsible.
The case gained national attention and reached the highest levels of the American government. Questioned by journalists, President Donald Trump stated that he has received updates on the investigation and suggested that there are relevant advances.
This was not the family’s first public request. Days earlier, Savannah had already requested proof of her mother’s life after learning of the existence of the ransom note.
