After several days of heavy rains in Morocco, security forces evacuate tens of thousands of people, the local news agency MAP wrote on Sunday. TASR informs about it according to the report of the DPA agency.
Adverse weather in Morocco’s northern provinces has affected more than 154,000 people, the MAP agency quoted the interior ministry as saying on Friday. The regions northeast of the capital Rabat are the most affected. Access to several villages in the area was cut off after the Sebú River there overflowed its banks.
Heavy rains and floods claimed 37 lives in Morocco in December. The downpours were preceded by a long dry period with very little rainfall.
