Although the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), has sent proposals that deal with the end of the 6×1 scale to the Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ), the federal government is still evaluating the possibility of sending its own project on the topic to Congress. The information was confirmed by a source from Palácio do Planalto to Young Pan.

This Monday (9), Hugo Motta sent to the CCJ the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution that provides for the reduction of working hours and the end of the 6×1 scale, beginning the processing of the matter in the House.

The proposal brings together texts presented by deputy Érika Hilton (PSOL-SP) and deputy Reginaldo Lopes (PT-MG).

To Jovem Pan, the Minister of Institutional Relations, Gleisi Hoffmann, praised the initiative of the President of the Chamber and highlighted the environment of dialogue between the Legislative and the Executive.

According to interlocutors, Motta has classified his relationship with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva as “excellent”, which facilitates the advancement of issues considered sensitive.

When justifying the decision, Hugo Motta stated that the discussion meets a historical demand of the working class, but highlighted the need for caution. “It is a matter that directly impacts the economy. Therefore, it is essential to listen to all sectors and seek the fairest proposal possible”, he said. The president of the Chamber also highlighted the scenario of full employment in the country and argued that reducing working hours could represent an improvement in the dignity and quality of life of workers.

Even with the progress of the PECs in Congress, the government has not yet put the hammer down on the presentation of its own text.

After the admissibility analysis at the CCJ, the PEC will go to a special committee and, subsequently, for a vote in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies.
