Dollar fluctuates due to Trump’s mood, not due to the seriousness of the Brazilian economy, says Lula

(Reuters) – President Luiz Inácio ‍Lula da Silva linked this Monday (9) ‌the fluctuation of the dollar to the ‘mood’ of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, ‌stating that ‌the variations in the US currency against the real do not depend on the ‌seriousness of the Brazilian economy.

At an event at the Instituto Butantan, in São Paulo, Lula also stated that he doesn’t want a fight with Trump: ‘I’m not crazy’, he said.

The president also stated that Brazil’s fight is to show that the world cannot do without multilateralism, and that it is not choosing between China and the USA, but rather what is best for Brazil.
