How checking our phones ruins our relationships


It has long been known that smartphones can put a strain on relationships. Nevertheless, many people constantly reach for their devices – even in moments that actually belong to others: at dinner with their partner, while having a drink at the bar or when you are comfortably watching a film on the couch. This behavior has a new name: Phubbinga word created from “phone” and “snubbing”. This refers to unintentionally ignoring other people in favor of your own screen.
