Cairo – At least eight Palestinians were killed in several violent incidents in the Gaza Strip on Monday. Israeli soldiers killed four Palestinian militants in Rafah in the southern coastal area, according to the military. They came out of a tunnel and opened fire on the troops. The military described the attack as a serious violation of the ceasefire with the Islamist Hamas. Later on Monday, an Israeli airstrike on an apartment in Gaza City killed three Palestinians, health authorities said. An Israeli insider said the army was striking back in retaliation for Hamas’s breach of the ceasefire.
