Donald Trump’s plane trips provide a lot of content. Above all, for his hallway conversations with journalists, where he addresses current issues in a somewhat closer tone (only somewhat).
There have been many headlines that he has left in his little more than a year at the helm of the White House and taking advantage of long transfers within the United States or on his trips abroad.
But beyond his penchant for making big announcements or powerful statementsthere is another peculiar detail in his air journeys, both on the presidential Air Force One and on other aircraft in which he has traveled repeatedly years ago, including his private jets.
The 47th president of the United States does not sleep on flights that he has been facing for many years. He recalled this in a recent speech at the National Prayer Breakfastdelivered in Washington DC in early February.
Throughout his speech, Trump recalled an occasion when he was told that he could sleep in the back of the plane to make a long journey, lasting several hours, more bearable.
“I don’t sleep on airplanesI don’t like sleeping on airplanes. I like to look out the window, looking for missiles and enemies“Trump himself joked, leaving those attending his talk somewhat astonished.
His speech at the religious event provided much more than flying anecdotes. Given the nature of the talk, Trump wanted to reflect on his faith and that of USA, ensuring that it is “one nation under God”.
There was no shortage of critical references to his opposition, Democratic Party, about which he assured not understanding how a “person of faith” could vote for a candidate of that sign.
“For most of our country’s history, the Bible was in every classroom in the nation, but today in many schools students are indoctrinated with anti-religious propaganda and some are punished for their religious beliefs“added the American president.
