The governor of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) criticized President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) this Monday (9). When commenting on the national political scenario, he made direct criticisms of the president and the history of PT governments. For him, the country is experiencing exhaustion after successive party mandates. “The moment of exhaustion has come, it is no longer possible to continue with five PT terms”, he stated.

In the governor’s assessment, Lula adopts an outdated and populist stance. “Lula is regressive, he only denounces bets, he’s a banker, he doesn’t make any decisions about violence. He’s a folksy person, he talks about cold beer and picanha. My thoughts are different: qualifying and professionalizing the workforce. We’re talking about artificial intelligence and Lula couldn’t even pass a law in the National Congress,” he said.

Regarding the issue of security, Caiado was clear. “There are no cameras in my police department. In Goiás, I don’t have one. I said it to Lewandowski’s face, to Lula’s face. In my state, I’m in charge. I’m the one who commands the penitentiary and public security in my state. I don’t tolerate excesses. There’s an austere internal affairs department. I expelled several police officers,” said Caiado.

The declaration took place this Monday (9) at the event: Health Dialogues promoted by the Union of Hospitals, Clinics and Laboratories of the State of São Paulo (Sindhosp). The event also included the participation of the former Minister of Health under the Bolsonaro administration, Luiz Henrique Mandeta, who supports the governor of Goiás for the presidency of the Republic.

Ronaldo Caiado is the PSD pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic. Gilberto Kassab’s party also has the governor of Paraná, Ratinho Junior, and the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, in the nomination for President.
