King Charles III expressed his concern on Monday (9) about the allegations that continue to surface about his brother, the former Prince Andrew, after British police said they were looking into reports that he may have passed on potentially confidential information to Jeffrey Epstein.

The former prince may have conveyed potentially confidential information to the late American sex offender when he was the United Kingdom’s special representative for International Trade, according to emails released by the United States Department of Justice.

Windsor Regional Police confirmed that they are “analyzing the information in accordance with our usual procedures”, according to a statement sent to AFP.

In an email dated November 30, 2010, seen by AFP, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, then Duke of York and whose email address appears as “The Duke” sent the American financier information regarding visits to Vietnam, Hong Kong, Shenzhen (China) and Singapore.

The then prince sent the information to the American financier five minutes after receiving it from his assistant at the time.

O Monarch Charles III has indicated he is “ready to assist” in investigations into his brotherif the police request it, the Royal Palace informed this Monday.

The palace highlighted that “the king made it clear […] your deep concern about the accusations that continue to surface regarding Mr. [Andrew] Mountbatten-Windsor.” The scandal has heightened pressure on the British royal family and heir to the throne, Prince William, said he and his wife were “deeply concerned about the continuing revelations.”

Although he did not mention it directly, William broke a years-long silence about his uncle’s ties to Epstein. His statements come on the same day he met in Saudi Arabia with Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, a visit that was overshadowed by the scandal involving the former financier. In another email from October 2010, cited by the BBC, former Prince Andrew also sent details to the sex offender about his upcoming trips to the same destinations.

Andrew deposed

In October, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of all his royal titles by his older brother King Charles III following new revelations about his friendship with Epstein. The king’s brother was the United Kingdom’s special representative for international trade between 2001 and 2011, before resigning due to criticism over his spending and the way he carried out the role.

The former prince was accused of sexual violence by Virginia Giuffre, the main prosecution witness in the Epstein case, when the woman was a minor. Andrew has always denied these allegations.

In new photos, from the Epstein files, published at the end of January, the former prince appears with another woman, which once again fueled suspicions against him. In the images, Andrew appears kneeling and leaning over a young woman whose face has been censored.

On the other hand, emails were also released in which Andrew invited Epstein to Buckingham Palace to talk “privately”.
