President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) criticized, this Monday (9), the stance of Jair Bolsonaro and other former presidents of the Republic who, according to him, had ignored states and regions where they were defeated at the polls.
“In the last government, the states in the Northeast that were not on the president’s side [Jair Bolsonaro] They didn’t receive a cent of help for anything, and you can be sure that I’m putting more money into the state of São Paulo than any of their presidents [prefeitos do estado] they have already placed”, said Lula during a ceremony announcing the acquisition of the building that will house the campus of the New Federal Institute of Mauá and the delivery of 37 ambulances.

And you can be sure that I am putting more money into the state of São Paulo than any of their presidents [prefeitos do estado] has already been implemented”, said Lula during an event in Mauá (SP).
Opportunity with security!
“Just to give you an idea, here are two mayors who are from the PL, our biggest enemy in the Chamber. Even so, you are receiving an ambulance because you were elected, and I respect your city’s vote”, he said.
The president then reinforced that, after being elected for a third term, he met with governors and mayors to listen to states’ demands and complete ongoing works.
“When you are president in Brazil, you do not have the right to be petty, to be small. In January 2023, I called all governors to ask about infrastructure works and put them in the PAC. If all presidents of the Republic did this, we would have much fewer problems”, he stated.

Non-state agenda
Earlier, Lula participated in an event at the Butantan Institute, where he defended federal investment regardless of the state being governed by the opposition, under the command of governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).
The PT member stated that he does not engage in politics “asking which team the person supports” and said that helping Butantan is “the priority of saying that we are helping 215 million souls who live in this country and need the Brazilian State to exist”.
In the event, . Around R$1.4 billion will come from the federal government, through the New Growth Acceleration Program (PAC), and the rest will be contributed by the institute itself.
The main focuses are a new platform for the production of messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines, with a contribution of R$76.1 million from the Ministry of Health, and the construction of a factory to produce immunizations against the human papillomavirus (HPV), with R$495.9 million allocated by the federal government.
