It is one of the areas where generative AI has already triggered real change: software development is currently being rapidly transformed by tools like Claude Code and the models behind them. It is still not possible without human supervision, and yet many large companies are increasingly handing over certain tasks to such systems in order to increase their own productivity – or at least because of the hope of doing so.
