The worst scenario came true: Three of the 10 kidnapped employees of the mining company were found dead!

Three of the ten Canadian mining company employees kidnapped two weeks ago in the violence-plagued Mexican state of Sinaloa have been found dead. It was announced on Monday by the Mexican Chamber of Mines. TASR writes about it according to an AFP report. Three miners were found dead and identified by the authorities and their associates, according to a statement from the chamber, which brings together mining unions and companies.

Last week, the Mexican government intensified the search for ten miners who were kidnapped by unknown thugs on January 23. More than 1,000 police officers, three helicopters and two planes were involved in the operation. Vancouver-based Vizsla Silver said in a statement that it “has been informed by several families that their relatives, our colleagues, who were abducted from the company’s project construction site in Concordia, Mexico, have been found dead.”

Mexico’s attorney general said Friday that authorities have discovered a body that may belong to one of the miners and are currently conducting tests to identify it. Four people were detained as part of the search operation in Mexico. The authorities did not specify the nationality of the abducted persons.
