Lula handed over Brazil’s sovereignty to drug trafficking, says Caiado

Pre-candidate for President claims that the PT member cut the Armed Forces budget and canceled border operations

The former governor of Goiás and pre-candidate for the Presidency, (PSD), said on Monday (June 8, 2026) that the president (PT) “gave Brazil’s sovereignty to drug trafficking”. The statement was made in a video posted on his (ex-Twitter).

According to Caiado, “Lula cut R$4.3 billion from the Armed Forces and the Army canceled border operations”, e, “Without the presence of the Armed Forces, crime will advance even further”. The former governor stated that, “in January 2027, this changes”.

In a video published online, Caiado said: “The Brazilian Amazon became the largest cocaine export hub in the world. There was only one condition for it to be rescued there and for this territory to return to Brazil. Do you know how? With the Armed Forces. What did he do? Cut the funding. Today we don’t have the capacity”.
