Striker Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, from Morocco, has a confirmed injury to his right knee and is expected to be absent from the team for at least two weeks at the World Cup, according to Spanish sports daily Marca.
Thus, he will be left out of the debut match against Brazil, on Saturday (13).
Abde was diagnosed with a sprain in the internal collateral ligament of his right knee after the friendly played against Norway, on Sunday (7).
The player, one of the highlights of the Moroccan team and Real Betis, will continue with the national team for now, but his participation in the tournament is at risk with the confirmation of his injury.
Coach Mohamed Ouahbi can decide up to 24 hours before the debut whether to cut the athlete or continue with him in the squad for the World Cup.
