Brazil leads digital growth with 7.9 million pre-World Cup followers

Brazilian team gained the largest volume of subscribers from December 2025 to June 2026, according to Ibope/Repucom ranking

The Brazilian team gained 7.9 million followers in its campaigns from December 2025 to June 2026. The performance places Brazil as the team with the greatest expansion of digital audience in the semester leading up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The data is part of the Global Digital Ranking of Football Teams, by Ibope Repucom this Tuesday (June 9, 2026).

With the increase, the Brazilian Football Confederation overtook England and regained 2nd place in the general digital audience ranking, with 46.4 million followers, and is behind France, which has 52.6 million followers in total.

Ibope Repucom, the sports marketing research division of the Ibope group, analyzed the volume of followers of 60 national teams. The mapping covers Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.

Instagram and TikTok accounted for 96% of the Brazilian National Team’s digital growth in the period analyzed. Together, the two platforms added around 7.6 million new followers, with approximately 4 million subscribers on each.

The highlight was TikTok, where Brazil recorded the highest absolute growth among the 60 teams monitored by IBOPE Repucom. In December 2025, the Seleção’s profile occupied 22nd position on the platform, with around 700 thousand followers. Six months later, it had gained another 3.6 million subscribers, jumping to 7th place in the ranking.

The Brazilian team now leads the ranking on Instagram among all teams. The profile has 22.9 million followers. CBF maintains the largest Facebook page, with 12 million subscribers. On YouTube, Brazil has the 3rd largest channel, with 2.1 million subscribers, behind France and England, which occupy the first two positions.
