Deay whispering can be heard from Europe these days when it comes to increasing repression in Turkey. Berlin described the arrest of the opposition Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu almost two weeks ago as “absolutely unacceptable”. Paris accused the government of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan “systematic attacks on freedom”.
