According to information from NHKstate media in Japan, the suspect is called Abaseriya Patabadige Pathum Udayanga. He is 31 years old, is from Sri Lanka and is unemployed. Still according to NHK He lived in the two-story apartment in the Hon-Sarizuka neighborhood.
Udayanga is suspected of a criminal fire because he left the apartment without putting out the fire. According to NHKThe fire would have started in the room and spread to the walls and the ceiling of the apartment.
He was questioned by police and admitted the accusations. Udayanga stated that he was so much panic that he could not erase the flames.
