Garden pests have already begun, and many gardeners face unpleasant problems. The doves are screaming at the ground and destroying the roots, slugs and snails shy away from salads and other plants, while the auslinda hides under the leaves and threatens the harvest. These small but persistent enemies can cause great damage to your garden in a short period of time. Therefore, it is very important to notice them early and take measures.
Fortunately, there are effective and quite simple ways to help protect plants. Some measures may be natural, others chemical, but they will all help reduce invasion. This article will provide specific tips on how to combat the most common pests. Your garden will be able to bloom again and give a lot of harvest if you know what and how to use. The key is to act quickly and responsibly.
Slugs
To get rid of slugs, make a simple trap with beer – its smell attracts slugs. Use small cans, fill them with 1/3 of beer, then hide the cans on the ground and wait 1-2 days. The slugs attracted by the smell of beer will fall into the tin and will not be able to get out of it. All you have to do is check the cans and get rid of stuck garden pests on time.
Worms
These pests are walnut larvae. Wire worms live underground and feed on root. If you do not notice these pests on time, they can damage most of the harvest. To get rid of the detected insects, place a few pieces of any vegetable on the wire and bury the bait in the garden to a depth of 5-10 cm. After 2 days, dig the bait and get rid of caught pests. Then cover the new bait and repeat the procedure.
Snails
All snails like to hide in wet and dark places, so gardeners use simple traps from wooden boards to get rid of them. To do this, place small tables on the ground immediately after watering the garden to prevent vegetables. There will be plenty of snails after 1-2 days after the tables.
Curricular
Like slugs, the doves are attracted to the smell of beer, making the alcoholic beverage a great bait for these insects. First make a 15-20 cm deep hole in the ground, then place a bottle of 100 ml drink. Note that the bottle neck should protrude slightly from the ground. Then cover the dug hole with boards to prevent the doves from frightening the light reflected by the bottle. The insects attracted by the smell of beer will fall into the bottle and will not be able to get out. The trap should only be updated every 2-3 days.
Auslindos
This insect also loves dark and humid places, so put a wet newspaper twisted in a roll to the garden to catch them. It is better to do this in the evening because the auspads are only active in the dark.
Colorado beetles
To get rid of Colorado beetles, place in a jar bait from potatoes. Cut them into small slices and dug the pan in the soil next to the potato garden at the same level with the ground. After 1-2 days, check the jar and assemble all the beetles that have entered it, then renew the potato bait and dug the pan into the ground.
We hope these traps will help you get rid of garden pests. But for the result to be stable, remember to apply them regularly, preferably throughout the summer season. You can also use other tools together to make the results even better.
