“The PF puts words in my mouth,” Bolsonaro tells CNN Brazil

Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) harshly criticized the conduct of the PF (Federal Police) investigations and the award-winning report of his former ordinant order, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, during an interview with CNN Brazil.

According to Bolsonaro, the inquiry investigating an alleged coup attempt is “without appropriate” and represents a political persecution.

“The Federal Police put words in my mouth. It’s a process that has no fit. There is no blow,” said Bolsonaro.

The former president classified as a “shame” the denunciation of Mauro Cid, which implied him directly on the investigations.

For him,: “This denunciation is a shame. Attorney Gonet himself should be denounced for what is happening,” he said.

Bolsonaro also suggested that the accusations need fundamentals and that the judicial process was being used for political purposes to weaken it.

The former president’s statements take place one day after the opinion of the Attorney General, Paulo Gonet, who spoke into.

In the 517 pages of the PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) request for the defendants of the criminal proceedings that investigates an attempt to be convicted, Gonet details the performance of what points as a criminal organization with a goal.

For the Attorney General, the defendants organized themselves for an “authoritarian project of power” to keep Bolsonaro in the presidency.

The PGR says that the facts “leave no doubt” that the organization, rooted in the very structure of the state and with the strong influence of military sectors, developed in hierarchical order and dividing the preponderant tasks among its members.

“Specifically in relation to the defendants reported in these records-members of the high level of the federal government and the Armed Forces-it was proved that they formed the crucial core of the criminal organization, even if they adhered to the group at different times. They departed the main decisions and social impact actions that narrated in the complaint.”

PGR points out that the lieutenant colonel Mauro César Barbosa Cid“Although with less decision autonomy,” was also part of this core, acting as a spokesman for then-President Jair Bolsonaro, and conveying guidance to the other members of the group.
