Amazon () invested R $ 13.6 billion in Brazil in 2024, the equivalent of 23% of the total since the operation arrived in Brazil, 13 years ago. The contributions were mainly destined for the construction of structure and technology, people and logistics in the digital store, the AWS cloud service and the streaming Prime video. The acceleration in the pace has to do with the company’s global strategy, which has defined the country as its market with the greatest potential to bring new customers.
In the last 18 months alone, the company has built 140 of the 200 logistics poles in Brazil. Among them is their largest in the city of Cajamar, metropolitan region of São Paulo, and hundreds of stations dedicated to deliveries ultimately.
“Brazil today is seen as a country with the greatest potential to bring new customers to Amazon. And that is why we invest here, for this potential to bring new people to our service,” says Amazon President Juliana Sztrajtman.

“Today, 15% of retail penetration is made in e-commerce, there is room for much more. So we look at this competition as companies that are developing this segment with us and improving the level of service,” says Sztrajtman. “There were 14 billion last year. We intend to maintain this pace of investment in infrastructure, technology, people, logistics.”
