- Germany temporarily stopped the supply of weapons of Israel.
- Merz’s office disagrees with the plan of Israel in Gaza.
- Several artists have supported the ban.
Germany will temporarily prohibit its companies to deliver military equipment to Israel that could be used in the war in the Gaza Strip, the German Chancellor announced Friday Friedrich Merz. He responded to the planned taking control of Israel over Gaza. According to the AFP report, TASR reports this.
The office said it is “increasingly difficult to understand” as this plan could help to achieve Israel’s legitimate goals. “Under these circumstances, the German government will allow any export of military equipment that could be used in the Gaza Strip until further notice,” declared Merz.
More than 367 German artists and media personalities has recently joined the call in which they demanded from the German government to interrupt the supply of weapons to Israel. “We also condemn the horrible crimes committed (Palestinian militant movement) Hamas to the greatest possible extent. However, no crime can be defended by the collective punishment of millions of innocent people in the most brutal way,” they stated in the challenge.
The Israeli security cabinet approved a plan to take control of Gaza on Friday morning. Before the Netanyahu session, he told American Fox News that Israel wants to take control of the entire Gaza band, but is not interested in the permanent occupation of the area. The aim is reportedly to free it from Hamas and finally hand over the Gaza report to the hands of an alternative civilian government.
