Man arrested after pushing his wife and daughter in motion

A 27 -year -old man was arrested last weekend in Atibaia, São Paulo, accused of domestic violence. According to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), he would have pushed his partner and daughter of the vehicle they were, still in motion, causing abrasions on the victims.

The woman sought medical attention after the episode, and the attacker was detained by the Military Police when she tried to look for them at the hospital. He was sent to the city’s police duty and filed for domestic violence, bodily injury and drug trafficking, remaining available to the courts.

Data from the Brazilian Public Security Yearbook show that in 2024 at least four women were murdered per day in Brazil. There were 1,492 victims in total, the highest number since 2015 and 0.7% higher than in 2023.

In addition, the report indicated a 19% increase in cases of attempted femicide compared to the previous year, and also registered growth in rape crimes, up 9.6% in 2024. Women represented 92.7% of victims of these cases.
