The Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, stated that the federal government will forward the economic team to the National Congress this Monday (2).
The confirmation was given during a visit to the Chinese automaker BYD’s factory, in Camaçari, Bahia.
The PEC is one of the instruments that will be sent to the National Congress to implement the cost containment measures, which were prepared by the team of the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad.
This instrument will be used to change the rules on salary bonuses, Fundeb, subsidies and grants and also to extend the DRU (Decoupling of Union Revenues).
On Thursday (28), the government announced and explained the measures of the cost containment package. It was announced between the years 2025 and 2030.
The following day, the government leader in the Chamber of Deputies, José Guimarães (-CE), announced expenditures announced by the government of Luiz Inácio da Silva (PT).
One of the changes present in the text is the percentage expansion of the fiscal framework’s expenditure ceiling. The decision to delegate the presentation of the project to the government leader was a strategy to speed up the formalization of the measures.
