São Paulo starts dispute against LDU and altitude in the quarterfinals of Libertadores

São Paulo has the LDU and the altitude of Quito, Ecuador’s capital, as opponents on Thursday (18), at 19h (Brasília), for the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores.

The game will take place at Rodrigo Paz Delgado, the second largest Ecuadorian stadium, which is 2,734 meters altitude. He faced his rival in the country’s capital on three occasions and lost the three games.

The return match is scheduled for next Thursday (25), at Morumbis, again at 19h (from Brasilia). Those who move forward will face Palmeiras or River Plate from Argentina.

To reach the quarterfinals, he eliminated Atletico Nacional from Colombia. LDU beat Botafogo.

How São Paulo arrives

Sao Paulo “fled” the risk of suffering from new embezzlement. The biggest concern for coach Hernán Crespo was about the left side. Enzo Díaz and Wendell had physical problems last Sunday (14), in the victory over Botafogo. However, complementary examinations pointed out that both did not have injuries.

Liberated by the medical department, Enzo and Wendell traveled with the cast. Ferreirinha, who was not in the match against Botafogo due to a nuisance in the left adductor muscle, will return to Tricolor. Lucas, Oscar, Calleri, Ryan, André Silva and Luiz Gustavo are out.

LDU Highlights

Commanded by Brazilian coach Tiago Nunes, LDU eliminated Botafogo to reach the quarterfinals. With this, it has achieved the best result in Libertadores since 2019.

The coach arrived at the club in June this year and accumulates eight wins, five draws and four losses. LDU occupies third place in the Ecuadorian Championship.
