The French magazine France Football defined the nominees for the 10 categories of the 2025 Golden Ball. The event of the most prestigious awards of world football will be held on Monday, September 22, No Théâtre du Châtelet, EM Paris, and will be broadcast from 15h (Brasília), in the channels of the TNT Sports on YouTube and pay TV, and on the streaming of Max.

Brazilians nominated in the Golden Ball categories
To date, three Brazilians are among those nominated in the 2025 Golden Ball categories. Kopa Male Kopa Trophybest under-21 player, Stephen is the only Brazilian. Currently in Chelsea, da englandthe young man acted for Palm trees Until the Club World Cup.
Alisson Beckerfrom Liverpool, is among the finalists of the Yashin Trophybest goalkeeper in the world. The Brazilian shirt 1 won the award in 2019 and was second in 2022.
Arthur Eliascoach of the Brazilian women’s team, was appointed among those nominated in the Women’s Cruyff Trophybest coach in the category. Arthur has been at the head of the Brazil’s women’s team since 2023.
Botafogo, winner of Brasileirão and Libertadores in 2024, appeared as nominated among the best men’s clubs.

What do the Golden Ball categories represent?
The Golden Ball has several categories that recognize players, coaches and clubs that stood out in the previous season, in the case at 2024/25. See below what each of the categories represent:
Golden Ball (Male and Female)
- The ceremony’s main prize, granted to the best player and the best player in the world of the season. It takes into account individual performance, titles won, talent, fair play and impact on the team.
Kopa Trophy (male and female)
- Awards the best player and under-21 player in the world, was created in honor of Raymond Kopa, legend of French football. The winners are chosen by former Golden Ball winners.
Yashin Trophy (male and female)
- Dedicated to the best goalkeepers of the season, he honors Lev Yashin, the only goalkeeper to win the Golden Ball in 1963. Evaluates technical performance, regularity and defensive impact.
Cruyff Trophy (Male and Female)
- Recognizes the best coach of the season in each category. Named in honor of Johan Cruyff, an icon of world football as a player and coach.
Club of the Year (male and female)
- Award for the best club of the season, taking into account achievements, number of golden ball nominated, collective performance and global impact.
