PSP has detained 28 people and has registered 290 road infractions in the last three days during the “Safe Transport” operation, which also aimed to reinforce the feeling of safety of users using TVDE vehicles, this police said today.

In the context of these operations, which aimed at all types of vehicles, 28 arrests were made (20 by driving in a state of drunkennessfive by LACK OF LEGAL QUALITATION and three by other criminal situations), 290 infractions reported (highlighting 126 by speeding, 35 due to lack of compulsory periodic inspection, 16 due to lack of liability insurance and 12 for driving under the influence of alcohol) and seized 15 vehicles.
Prevention and inspection actions
To increase the confidence and security of citizens, PSP has developed 17 prevention and inspection actionsin the municipalities of Barreiro, Faro, Lisbon, Loures, Oeiras, Portimão, Porto, Setúbal and Sintra“with incidence in road prevention and inspection, with the objective of determining, preventing and detecting situations that can configure criminal and/or offense illicit, promoting the reinforcement of the sense of security, contrary to decontextualized information that creates a sense of insecurity in populations.”
