Part of the delegation 80. Meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN VZ) in New York is only the head of diplomacy Juraj Blanár (Smer-SD) and his close team. He traveled and returned back together with President Peter Pellegrini. Health Minister Kamil Šaško, together with the Minister of Education, Tomáš Drucker (both votes-SD), participated in the ceremonial opening of the general debate of the meeting, but they will fly at other times. This was stated for TASR by the Department of Communication of the President’s Office (KP) of the Slovak Republic in response to the CIS call.
The head of state pointed out that “every minister who has an official program during the UN meeting is welcome on board the special”. He expects, on the contrary, from the leader of the CIS party Andrej Danko explaining the purpose of the journey of the Minister of Culture Martina Šimkovičová (SNS nominee).
„Instead of calling me for such activities, Danko, then, first, when he prevents the Minister of Culture, will answer what the purpose of the Minister of Culture was here, what she came for, and what the next days he is going to do, since there is no (…) at all in New York and the UN meeting. I really stop enjoying it, these infantile attacks and the obsession of Danka with my person, I am not going to tolerate it anymore”Said the President. He added that Šimkovičová has seen” only half a day “at the Festival of the Slovak Minority in New Jersey.

KP SR recalled that The Head of State participates in negotiations at the UN VZ, which also corresponded to the professional and media occupation of the aircraft. “Part of the delegation is the Minister of Foreign Affairs Juraj Blanár and his close team, who arrived together with the President of the Slovak Republic to this most important international event,” explained from KP SR, saying that Ministers who have a working program in the US these days have traveled there according to their program, time and priorities, as the President has a working program in the US until Thursday (25 September).
The President explained that the Minister of Health and the Minister of Education will fly at other times. “The Minister of Health also has his own program that requires a separate journey back home to Slovakia and my Minister of Foreign Affairs, as we came together, will be returned,” Pellegrini explained.
The CIS called on the President not to refuse the members of the government on board a government special on its foreign trips. The CIS said this on the social network. Party leader Danko said to journalists in parliament that The attack on the Minister of Culture Šimkovičová in connection with her trip to the United States is not serious.
The Minister of Culture on the social network reported that she participated in the 47th Slovak Heritage Festival in New Jersey on Sunday (21 9th 9th). Pellegrini, who is in the US on a business trip, also attended the festival. The Stop Corruption Foundation on Friday (19 September) on the social network informed that there are also tickets to New York for Šimkovičová and the head of the Communication Department Petra Demková among the orders of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. The ministry should have ordered them for almost 16,000 euros.
