In February it was exactly 80 years ago that two Jewish refugees and a Wehrmacht deserter landed in the Tyrolean high mountains on behalf of the US secret service. The three US agents, the two Jewish refugees Fred Mayer and Hans Wijnberg and the Tyrolean deserter Franz Weber, were introduced to the Stubai Alps in 1945 in 1945 in 1945. Her mission, which went down in history under the code name “Brooklyn”, contributed a little later to end the Nazi rule in Tyrol and the largely fighting without a fight.
