Israel accepted ‘withdrawal line’ and waits for response from Hamas to ceasefire

United States President Donald Trump said on Saturday (4), in a publication on the social network Truth Social, that Israel agreed with the “initial line” of withdrawal, already shared with Hamas.

According to Trump, as soon as the group confirms the agreement, the ceasefire will come into force “immediately”, and will begin the exchange of hostages and prisoners, paving the way for the next phase of withdrawal.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he hoped to announce the full release of the Israeli hosts held by Hamas in the coming days, after the Palestinian military group accepted the conditions of a peace plan proposed by the United States government.

“It is not yet definitive, we are working on this vigorously and I hope that in the coming days I can announce to you the return of all our hostages, alive and dead, at once, while Israel’s armed forces remain inside the Gaza Strip and in the areas they control,” said Israeli leader.

According to Netanyahu, the announcement of the liberation of hostages can be made next week, during the Jewish holiday of Sicot, which takes place between October 6 and 13.
