Trump confirms that Sean 'Diddy' Combs asked him for a presidential forgiveness

Combs was sentenced on Friday to more than four years in prison for two shipping charges in order to get involved in prostitution

President Donald Trump confirmed that Sean “Diddy” Combs has called for a presidential forgiveness under his federal criminal proceedings.

During an interview with CNN journalist Kaitlan Collins on Monday, about possible forgiveness to Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s ex-girlfriend, Trump stated that “many people” had asked for perdons-including Combs, which was more than four years in prison for two shipping charges in order to get involved in prostitution.

In August, a member of the Comb defense team that the music entrepreneur’s team had contacted the Trump administration about possible forgiveness.

“As far as I know, we came into contact and had conversations about a forgiveness,” CNN reporter Nicole Westmoreland told reporter Nicole Westmoreland.

Trump had previously nominated, in an interview with, that it would be unlikely to grant forgiveness to Combs: “He was very friendly, we got along well and seemed a good kind. He didn’t know him well. But when I applied for the presidency, he was very hostile.”

At the time, Trump added that this made forgiveness “harder to grant.”

Asked by CNN, about Westmoreland’s comments in August, a White House official said that “he would not comment on the existence or lack of any request for clemament.”

Also on Monday, Comb lawyers asked Judge Arun Subramanian – who condemned the businessman on Friday – to recommend to the federal department of prisons to put him in a low security prison in Fort Dix, New Jersey, where he could “treat drug use problems” and “maximize family visits and rehabilitation efforts.”
