Slovak hockey player Šimon The German helped New Jersey win 3-1 over champion Florida with one assist in Friday’s overseas NHL match. The 21-year-old defenseman assisted on Tim Meier’s game-winning goal in the 27th minute for Canada’s second point of the season. His compatriot Juraj Slafkovský was also happy with the win, whom Montreal beat Nashville 3:2 at home after extra time.
