A poster caught the attention of those who passed by a busy commercial street in Cuiabá (MT) this week. At the gate of a doctor’s office, the owner decided to deal with crime in a humorous and, by the way, ironic way.
The notice pasted on the gate says: “I’ve been broken into 3 times; I don’t have a computer, I don’t have a TV and I don’t have a safe. Thank you for understanding!” The message, direct and sarcastic, reflects the tiredness of those who have been victims of repeated break-ins and try to avoid further damage. Residents and traders in the region say that thefts have been frequent and that insecurity worries those who work there.

Despite the good-humored tone, the outburst reveals a serious problem: the feeling of impunity and vulnerability in the face of urban crime. Many traders report that they use bars, cameras and even messages like this to try to ward off criminals.
The poster ended up becoming an attraction among pedestrians and went viral on social media, where internet users were divided between laughter and indignation.
