The appearance of the earth was largely influenced by the species Homo sapiens. But this change did not begin with industrialization (even if it has reached new dimensions in the recent past), not even with the first farmers. Even before settling down and the need for extensive pastureland, foragers – hunters and gatherers – shaped the landscape, as more and more studies show.
